Everything I planned to share with you is so eclipsed by the events of today it hardly seems important now. I'm sure you've heard.
I woke up to a text that said they were in the hospital. The next text said that the baby was coming, they couldn't stop it.
He was born about six this morning. He is 2 pounds one ounce. He is super tiny, but he is doing amazingly well. There is a long list of tender mercies to celebrate:

  • A week and a half ago they were in Australia.  What if the baby was born there?  He wouldn't have been a US citizen, and he would have been in an Australian hospital for 3 months.
  • He wasn't born on the plane.  He wouldn't have made it.
  • He wasn't born at home or in the car, they made it to the hospital
  • He weighs more than most 26 week old babies.
  • Most don't cry for a month or so, they don't have the lung capacity, but HE CAME OUT CRYING.
  • He's a little fighter. He came out and kicked one of the doctor's instruments.
  • He is breathing part room air, which is a miracle.
  • His APGAR scores were 7 and 7.  APGAR is a reading from 0 to 10.  10 is perfectly healthy and perfect, 0 is the opposite. A lot of full term babies get 7. That is a miracle.
  • He seems perfectly healthy. There are no obvious issues. He will be in the hospital until July, but it looks like everything may turn out very very well.
There are so many tender mercies to celebrate!

Happy Conference!  Three new Temples, Ecuador, Brazil and Zimbabwe. Conference was INCREDIBLE!  The themes to me were love love love, loving people and really knowing them and taking care of them. It was so awesome. They are pleading with us to take care of the refugees. Here are some awesome conference quotes:

There was an amazing talk on rescue.  I'm excited for you to hear them all.  We were told...don't wait, don't have a meeting...just GO!!
Seth is sitting at the table asking if we are connected to the earth or gravity.  He's trying to figure out exactly what gravity is made of. Is it magnetic?  Then why are we not attracted to the poles?
SPENCER HAS FUN NEWS. That kid is cute. After it happened he was looking in the mirror saying that he was handsome, then he cleaned the bathroom counter to get back humble again. :).

Sweet Seth has been working for months and months to get a bike. He has saved, worked at Grandma Jello's, lost his wallet 8 times (once for 3 months in the snow with $37 dollars in it).  Sorensens hired him to feed their animals for 5 days. They paid him in advance.   I wish I had a video of when he came home. There was so much joy just exploding from his face.  He was so precious, just freaking out that he finally had enough money. You should have seen him on his bike, just flying down Jello's driveway, SO HAPPY!
Joseph is doing great on soccer. He's got fancy feet.

Thursday we had Vilate and Joseph come teach homeschool about Uganda. It is so humbling to realize what people do in other parts of the world for the Savior. Joseph spent about 40 hours a week on his district presidency calling.  We made  paper beads and bread and beans. There were 30 kids here but only exactly one pooped all over the floor.
Angie and Evan are selling their house and moving to Provo!  Crazy stuff.  He got a new job.

Monday night we had our Jerusalem dinner. It was AWESOME!!! We had John and Avery over, two non-members. Yea!
Elder Hallstron said "You can have what you want, or you can have something better!! " He quoted part of our favorite quote about turning your life over to the Lord.
Dad bought Courtney a Book of Mormon in Estonian. She was very happy. Spen gave it to her at Chandler's mission call opening last night....Kuzko Peru for Chandler!

Had a fun ward birthday party for Jamie Roller.
And just like last week, we did not buy even one llama.  Sorry to let you down again.

I WANT TO GIVE EVERYTHING TO THE LORD. EVERYTHING EVERYTHING EVERYTHING.
I will close as conference did with the words of Elder Holland. Heavenly Father never wants us to be discouraged, but filled with courage.  Just keep trying and never give up! Heavenly Father loves us so much.
“[Heavenly Father] wants to bless us,” he said. "A rewarding, abundant and eternal life is the very object of His merciful plan for His children.”
Keep loving. Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. “Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, forever.”

I love you son! I AM SO HAPPY WE GET TO CHAT A LITTLE BIT AT THE END!
