Elder Scrumptious! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! We love you more than words can ever ever say! We loved your note so much. Thank you. It is a real comfort to know that you already know everything. :)
We want to know every single little tiny thing! What is your companion like? Is your pillow soft? Do you do stretches in your MTC class? Do you get to play basketball? How is the food? How many in your district? Are there any sisters going to FIJI? Do you know your departure date? It seems so soon! November 27th! Wow! Do you have everything you need? Do you need 3 x 5 cards for flashcards or anything? How is getting up at 6:30? What would be fun in a package? How is your heart? Just a few questions from Mom.

Here are some thoughts from your setting apart blessing:

Your mission will be a foundation, one of the building blocks which the rest of your life will be built upon.
Blessed with confidence in the language. You will learn the language fast and easily with diligence and study. You will communicate quickly and easily, relatively early.
You will say words you don't know, the words will be from God-RECORD THESE EXPERIENCES.
Blessed with physical safety You will be warned of danger and if you heed the warning IMMEDIATELY you will be protected from those who would further the work of the adversary.
You will have companions who haven't had the love you have in your life. As you lift and love them you will help them.
You are already prepared, but you will be taught and strengthened?
Your traits of kindness, optimism, courage and strength ...
You will have an open, trusting relationship with your mission president. He will not just be a leader, but will help guide you to grow spiritually and personally. You will have a relationship of mutual trust.
Without invitation there is no change or change will not come.
Your family will pray on bended knee for you, and as they do angels will be sent to care for, strengthen and lift you
Your love for the Book of Mormon will continue to grow, as you feel the love for the book, those you teach who are prepared will feel it too.
You are called to teach the love of the Savior.
(Afterward President Ghiz testified that Grandpa Roger was with us and talking about how you are named after him).
Love you Spen! My little Garn babies are here for piano lessons.
