If I know you, and I feel like I do, you have set your sights to run a 47 second 400 this last 24 days, leave it all on the table even if you throw up your cranberries! I just love that about you! Don't outrun the Spirit! I sure love you!
- The sweetest story was told in Sacrament today. An inactive brother was recently at the Salt Lake City Airport. He saw a young man in a suit pacing back and forth, looking concerned and confused. He felt to approach him. Turns out, he had had several delays in getting to Salt Lake City, and was finally routed through Atlanta to get here from Mexico. This brother had served a spanish Speaking mission and was able to use the beautiiufl language of his mission to communicate. He called the MTC, their van had given up looking for him and gone back. It was arranged that this man would bring him to the MTC. He asked if he could pick up his bag and when he did, there was nothing in it. He explained that he had a brother on a mission and his parents could not afford anything but a tie. The man took him to Mr. Mac and got him clothes, and realizing how hungry this young man must be took him to a restaurant. When the inactive brother from Bluffdale returned home he looked up his bishop and called him and told him he would be coming back to church. The high counselor said, "who was rescued?"
- Michael Dunn is headed to Atlanta, Georgia! He bore a very tearful testimony right before opening his call. He credited and thanked his friends for being there for him. He admitted he was off track and thanked his friends for helping him get back on. He testified of the Book of Mormon and it's truth and power! AWESOME!
- I had the precious privilege of attending the temple with Kaden Kdog Evans yesterday. I was so happy to see that your exit schedule included a session at the Taipei Temple. Yea! His call should arrive Wednesday, the day his brother Brandon gets MARRIED!
- Annie is done with APA! She finished school Friday and had some school friends over to burn homework and celebrate. She kept asking me what they should do. I thought I had some great ideas like fighting with foam swords on the tramp, ratting their hair and putting war paint on their face and running up and down the street with ratted hair, watching only the kissing parts of HighSchool Musical 3....things like that. She told me I'm weird.
- Cutest prayer in primary. Almost like yours, just not QUITE as long :). Rodnie Morse, daughter of Trevor Morse and Jaimi Summers Morse thanked Heavenly Father for our shirts and pants and our brains and our heads, and please bless Jesus that he'll be safe and protected. So so fun.
- this is important. Spencer licked his finger and tried to stick it in Seth's ear during Sacrament meeting.
- We had a super sweet spiritual experience on Tuesday. I went on a five mile hike with the young women. One of our sweet little girls got very sick. I think she had heat exhaustion. She started shaking pretty violently. She was a little incoherent. Abby Roller carried her on her back for a while. We stopped and Chuck Garner and Josh Ayre gave her a blessing. The second it started the Spirit just drenched all of us. Chuck couldn't even talk. We were all immersed in the Spirit. So SO soon after the blessing she was totally fine. She skipped down the mountain. Her Dad came to get her and she didn't even go home with him. She finished the hike. It was pretty amazing for the girls to see the Priesthood at work.
- Joseph got a job! It may be one you want to look into! It is an ad distributor, running door to door taping ads on people's doors. Joseph made 15 an hour walking, could make more if he ran or skateboarded! Awesome!
- Thursday I was so sick of being the Chore czar that I told Joseph and Seth, the only children we've had around during the day this week as Spen was in St. George and Annie still had school, that I would do all thier chores for them if they would play together. They did. It was fun. I guess I do have some power around here after all :).
- We had a fun NAP concert in the park on Monday. I just love being outside. Your brothers and sister are pretty dangus darling.
- I love you Son. I know Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. I know we are broken for good reasons. I'm trying to learn to be more grateful for our brokenness. Someone said the cracks in us is how the light gets in. I love that. Please remember to not run faster than you're able as you sprint to the finish. I am so proud and grateful to be your mom!
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Love, Mama!
