Your Grandpa Raspberry was quite sick all last weekend. He thought he had a serious case of food poisoning. By Tuesday morning it became apparent that it was more than that. When they got to the emergency room they transferred him immediately to IHC Murray because a hernia had punctured and obstructed his bowel. They performed surgery immediately and repaired the hernia and removed the portion of bowel that was no longer viable. So many people have been praying for him. He had his fourth surgery this morning, but the miraculous thing is that they were able today to connect the bowel into one whole piece again. Previously they have been unable to do so because he was still in shock and there wasn't enough blood flow to the ends of the intestines to have them heal. Mckay, we have watched prayer and priesthood power healing Grandpa this week. All of his readings are leveling out and normalizing. He has a lot of healing to do, but we are on our way.
I was able to stay over one night in the hospital, and I felt that I was in a room full of angels. I felt like it was so crowded there was hardly any room for me. Dad gave him a blessing and he was told that he was receiving priesthood blessings from angels as well. Grandpa Raspberry is so humble and faithful, such a man of God. We've had daily miracles this week. We are so grateful.
The situation has consumed all of our thoughts, prayers, time, heart and feelings. It is so tender to see so many of the people we love united in prayer and fasting. We've been very close to heaven this week in many ways.
I'm not sure what else to say. It's amazing how the ordinary everyday puts on her splendid brilliant cloaks of glory, and just being alive, breathing, eating, hugging is resplendent with wonder and privilege. Everything, and I mean everything feels so sacred now.
I'm trying to think of anything else to share with you. Spencer had his first day of adulthood that wasn't spoken for with scout camp and senior trip. I asked him how it was going and he said he tried to listen to talk radio but couldn't find it. HILARIOUS.
We nailed Lover's Lane last night, Spen had a concert in a creepy Vegan restaurant downtown, Coy and I got SOME of your classes. You at least have the math refresher course, New Testament, engineering math, choir, and Mandarin at the moment. We're waitlisted for some better ones and everything is negotiable my darling little man stuff.
The boys went to Scout camp and Annie went to Oakcrest this week. For a few days it was just Seth and I.
Other than that we shelled peas in the garden, people were very very very sweet to me on my birthday. The sweet Hunts brought tons of groceries. People are reaching out to us because of Grandma.
Are you interested in the possibility of being a counselor for Korean camp with Nate? It's three weeks and $2000 gross, minus gas....It would be July 25 through August 12th....
May your heart be at peace. Grandpa has experienced miracles. Life is a miracle. We adore you with all of our entire hearts.
I love you. Ask us any questions about Grandpa. Love you!
