Hi scrumptious! We watched family videos for Dad's birthday party.  You were sitting on the floor singing Lady of Spain with all kinds of vibrato.  We also watched Dad's pranks, where you blew the wig off of his head with the leaf blower.  Oh, you're so YUMMY!!!!   We also watched when baby Seth was born, everyone holding him for the first time.  We have such a sweet and blessed life.

Mckay, I attended the funeral yesterday of Braden an Ashton's stepdad Brandon.  He took his own life.  I left sobbing and HUNGERING to be a better missionary. Here he was, living a life of quiet and unknown desperation.  I want to knock on every door, look in everyone's eyes, hug, listen, cry, and understand their hearts.   That was the saddest funeral.  The pastor at Calvary Baptist did a great job of testifying that resurrection is a gift to all. His version of the fall was that "because people made a very bad choice, we are here today.  WE SHOULDN'T BE HERE. THIS SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED.  He represented that the fall should not have happened, but because it did the Savior had to save us, which he did, but the feeling was that we should not be on earth experiencing all this suffering, that it's all a big mistake that the Savior had to correct.  I did feel so grateful for the truths that got through, that because of the Savior ALL of us will have eternal life.  ALL OF US.   I know Heavenly Father and the Savior know whether we start life in a hole or on a mountaintop.  Brandon definitely had a hard go.  His family put vodka in his bottle. He started life at such a liability.

Monday night we had a super uper uper fun party for Nic.  She is still so broken.  Sweet Nate did a treasure hunt for her, 27 clues and activities all day long.  He asked her what she wanted and she said she just wanted to have a campfire with the family at our house. I was so happy with that. We talked and sang songs and even laughed a little. Time will help, but it will always hurt, always.   We sang "Love Me" and "Nearer My God to Thee" with the guitar, and Riptide with Annie on the uke with Nate on the guitar. I miss you at all the times in the world.

Tuesday awesome primary meeting.  Wednesday super fun little carnival with the Scouts, awesome meeting with Lara Beckstrand and Haven about THE BIG SUMMER PLANS. It was a good good conversation.  Oh, Mook, I'm sorry you're not going to be here.

Dad took Seth fishing to Lake Powell this week. It just worked out so well, they caught tons of fish and had so much fun. Inline image 4Inline image 3Inline image 2Inline image 1
Check the hair.

Grandma Jan came up and put her arm around me and said "tell Mckay I'm hugging his Mom for him, and I live for his letters." She couldn't love you more.

We morped, Spen did a school gig, we partied for Dad's bday, we were in a talent show in Herriman with Nate's groups Fri. and Sat. night, did some laundry, and John was here for Dad's party tonight. Spen and I have been reading so much of Life and Death in Shanghai. Did you ever read that book?

How can I be grateful enough for "our people?'  We were in heaven tonight. Our people took more than an hour to talk about Jeff. I think it built him up so much.  It has been a very very precious night.

If I could sneak in your kitchen I would make you a sugar cookie, ugly sweater shape, decorate the crud out of it, and leave a love note on your table, fridge, microwave, sink, chair and floor.  We are still waiting for one more thing before we mail your package, SO SPEAK FAST. WHAT DO YOU WANT IN IT?
