WWWWWEEEEE LLLLOOOOOVVVVEEE YYYOOOUUUUUU!!!
We're so excited to hear from you, you precious amazing boy! How is every single tiny thing?
I’m so excited to hear about your week. Your last letter was so scrumptious. We’re so proud of you and how positive you are now how do you work and how divided you are to the Savior Jesus Christ and helping him and his wonderful work and salvation. The missionary spoke in our sacrament meeting on Sunday and it was awesome. They talked about growing up and shared some personal stories, one of them just talked about growing up in California and how he saw drugs and alcohol in promiscuity really damage people and how that just strengthen his desire to serve a mission and help spread the message about how to live a happy meaningful life. It was so good. I was especially impressed because they asked to be the speakers so that they could talk about missionary work and I thought that was stellar.
Oh Joseph Ross I had such a sweet answer to fasting and prayer yesterday. I fasted for two reasons, one is sweet wonderful Seth and all of his questions I told you about last week. He really wants to know how we can tell the difference between his own voice and the voice of the spirit, and he wants to be closer to God and I think he just wants to know that it’s all real and what God wants him to do. He is now working from three journals, one regular journal 11 a scripture note journal and one where he writes down spiritual experiences that he’s had and wants to remember forever. He’s been doing 30 minute prayers and he’s just really hungry right now for the things of the spirit. So we fasted togetherA half day on Sunday last and then yesterday again. It was very sweet. Grandpa Jello came and talk to him about a whole bunch of wonderful thanks and he and I read a lot of scriptures together and all in all it was awesome. Anyway since I was fasting anyway, I also really just fasted about my life and I got the sweetest sweetest sweetest most wonderful answer. I have so much on my mind and heart. I want to save the hungry, share the gospel with the entire world, be an incredible voice and piano teacher, be a wonderful neighbor and a wonderful missionary and get good grades in school and do super great in my calling and serve the young women and be a wonderful friend. I also want to be a good extended family member and above all I want to be the best wife and mother I possibly could. All of this can seem a little daunting at times, OK I am sugarcoating that I cry a lot. Anyway I went to the Lord with all of that and just explained that I just keep making lists and ever getting it all done and feel kind of discouraged about that. I got a really clear and beautiful answer. He said get up and spend the first part of your day with me, and we will plan together what to do that day, and then you can record the miracles at night because they will be there. That was it. It it is so awesome so I have I’ve made a huge list a repository if you will of things that I feel like I want to help and work on in love and lift and blessing fix and everything and I have that on the right side of the page and on the left I draw from those things or anything the Lord inspires me to do when we talk things over and plan through the day I just feel like it’s going to be so peaceful because I will know that even though I’m not doing everything I think I’m doing is what he wants me to do. I’m so grateful for personal revelation and I feel so overjoyed right now.
This week was super fun. One of the highlights was Veterans Day Seth got an inspiration to take grandma Jan to grandpa rules grave. We drove on a snowy evening and she told stories the whole two hours. I learned some things I didn’t know about their experiences in the war and the experiences of grandpa‘s brothers. I don’t know if you for the story but Eldon was in the Navy and they didn’t know where he was and he wrote home and said you might be interested on this article in the Endzone on this particular page and it was about India so then they knew that he was in India because his letters would come home so censored that they didn’t know anything about where he was stationed.
One are the other highlights of the week was grandma Jan‘s birthday, you may want to send her a quick little email Grandma Jan Clark 333@gmail.com and wish her a happy birthday. Anyway we went up that night for karaoke night and it got wild. I put some videos on the family chat you’ll have to look back on but Spenny and Seth were singing her favorite songs in her muumuus and curlers and throwing DVDs all over and standing on her bed stead that big huge shelf behind her bed they were on top of it dancing it was so funny I was dying.
You’ll also see this on the family chat but we got a ginormous tree and it might go and Nate’s house with their treehouse that he’s building. I am so overwhelmed with blessings it’s been so interesting to stay home so much together. Spenny auntie Sethie and I to spend tons of time together not so much with Jeff because he’s upstairs a lot but we see him a lot too. Last night we just went in the car and went to deliver treats to people. We took some to Aja because she’s having jaw surgery. It’s been really sacred fun and kind of quiet and interesting just to be together all of the time. We are under a two week mandate in Utah not to see anyone at all.
Jeni and Smitty have still been coming over. We are basically the same household. Baby Tata Smurchess is so yummy. Ailee is so so funny. We had the big blue bean bag on the human dog bed and we were playing superflop. We'd run through the house and jump on to the bean bag. This morning Ems Slichta came over to home school over here because both of the kids schools are closed for two weeks, and we got home from compost this morning and Spen and Seth decided to work out. They ripped their shirts off and they were being so super silly. Spen would yell out "squats" and they would squat and then wiggle their bums, they lifted weights while running around, ran up and down the stairs like 6 times yelling and then decided that if they went to where they girls were they would get more power so they came into the kitchen and did arm circles until Mom, Nans and Ems noticed them. Spen lost 14 pounds with the parasite and has only gained 4 or 5 back. He looks like a little prisoner of war. Home school is pretty entertaining.
I have still been studying the promises if we let God prevail and it is the most beautiful wonderful thing. I just love it so much.
We haven’t seen our Mary kids all week. I think they are abiding by the mandate as well. The house is so clean and decorated for Christmas. We are so blessed. The gospel makes it okay, not just okay but brilliant. It turns death into eternal life, weaknesses into change and sanctification through the power of Christ, anger to forgiveness, fear into faith, trials to growth and lessons, confusion to meaning, turns life into a gift, and each little human soul becomes the complete focus and love of the God of heaven. I love it all.
Joseph Ssempala called Vilate in tears and said the poverty in Uganda is ten times what it was when he was growing up. He was just aching. People are destitute and starving because they have shut down the country for covid and no one has any money and they can't eat. They are going to open a soup kitchen, funded by people here and cooked and distributed there. I am aching to run and help, but I think my money is best in cold hard cash that they can buy food with.
Sethie's zoom class asked why Elvis was in the corner.
Mook and Lids spoke in church and it was so awesome. They are so precious. Lids has pink hair.
I love Isaiah 65:24. Before we even pray he has already answered. It is love.
I am teaching all of the young women leaders this week and I'm being so prayerful and fastful and pleading to prepare and know what the Lord would have me say. I received an inspiration that may be helpful to you and to the missionaries in your zone as you teach them.
The Savior has composed a symphony of salvation for each soul, and we each play a part. We are not the whole song. Sometimes we want to be in the finale of their conversion, but the part he has written for us to play is in a quiet section of the first movement. We don't compose the plan, nor choose in what movement we play, we just get to choose how we will play the part he has asked to play in the symphony of salvation he has composed for everyone around us, and that when we play our part, we have tuned, learned, prepared and when we play it is resplendent with the joy of the song of redeeming love. Alma 5:26 26 And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a achange of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the bsong of redeeming love, I would ask, ccan ye feel so now?
We're having an interesting week. Cami Bergeson is coming from prison and moving in with Grandma Jan. She can't be around young children, and will have an ankle bracelet for a while tracking her every move. I hope we can help her get a fresh new start.
Anything you want in your Christmas package? Besides Nan?
I want to run away.
love Mom
