I have missed you deeply and painfully this week, and then we went to pick up the free bread and they had MANGO SALSA! That did me in. Are you okay? Are you well? Are you healthy? I think of you constantly and pray for you constantly. I love you so much.
We like your choking on a frog program. You always have such great ideas :).
So, was the elder ET'd and the stuff left behind the prank, or was the prank that he wasn't really ET'd?
Fun Family Highlights:
- Joseph had a dream that he was playing flag football at Pleasant Grove High School and he was just destroying, just wrecking the other team. The only problem was he was wearing skinny jeans and by halftime he was chafing so bad. He knew he could win if he could just get the shorts he left at Riverton High in his gym locker. He drove there real fast during halftime, but when he went in the doors at Riverton it was actually Oquirrh Hills and he kept running through the halls trying to find the gym but the halls kept changing and he could never find the gym.
- Seth said "Mom, I know why you're so in shape even though you're like a billion years old, it's because you do all of our chores for us! I think it's a great program for you and I think you should keep right on doing it!".
- I had the "man of the house" talk with Joseph and Seth yesterday. I told them I just needed them to man up and together we just had to do what needed to be done. I also told them they were cleaning at the shed and could use some help, and that they were paying. Seth said "Joseph, what if I go help at the shed and get paid and then we split the paycheck because you will probably be more help to Mom." That is what they did. He is so darling, so incredibly beyond his years, and bless Joseph's heart, he stuck right with me for a long time.
- Last Sunday we were blessed to attend Ailee's baby blessing, and then the priesthood ordination of Derek. After that our family packed up and went to Fairview. We were sitting around talking and laughing and Mckay just came out with "I want a baby" and then everyone started talking about your wisdom teeth video...."I want I want I want a baby!"
- Seth had all the neighborhood kids over for night games Friday night. It was super fun.
- I went to get bread with Grandma Jan yesterday morning at 6:30, and Grandpa Jello had been WAITING outside for 45 minutes to go with us, since 5:45 in the morning. HE IS THE BEST!
- Seth and I had the funniest night. We went out to try to get the chickens tucked in for the night, and two were missing. We could hear them but could not find them anywhere. We looked over in Jim's field, all around, couldn't find them anywhere. Then we looked up, and they were 15 feet up in the trees! We put a board from the coop to the tree and Seth got up there but still couldn't get them down. We left them there for the night.
- Wednesday we literally just finished picking peaches at Sonntags, gorgeous delicious peaches, loads of them, came home and picked tons of tomatoes from our garden, and we were walking in and got a text from Tracy Hendricksen next door to see if we wanted her peaches and pears. We have more than 9 bushels (apple boxes) of delicious scrumptious peaches. HEAVEN! Walker and Eli were awesome pickers. We filled up the whole back of the truck with gorgeous peaches.
- Thursday night Joseph was with Alee and we called to see if they wanted to play with us. We put the couch from the apartment in the back of the truck, strapped it in, got blankets and they sat on the couch and we drove around. Seth brought his math and did his homework on Lover's Lane by flashlight. It was so fun. The nights are delicious right now, with a hint of cool, a touch of fall. We stopped at a park and played lava tag, then back on the couch to come home.
Stuff like that and service and reading to the kids and feeling the spirit are some of my favorite parts.
- Fairview was super fun, park, games, T-Cee's, rock climbing in Maple Canyon, but the best part was SCHOOL BLESSINGS! Dad put his church clothes back on and we all had beautiful blessings at the hands of our awesome priesthood holding father. They were beautiful. Coy was told that angels would help him with computer programming. Seth's talked about PRIESTHOOD PREPARATION, which blessing will come into his life soon after you get home. Mckay was blessed with the gift of tongues as he continues to study Chinese. Joseph was told that this would be the most transforming year of his life, and it talked a lot about his wife, as did his patriarchal blessing. I was blessed that as I teach the gospel in seminary that stories and thoughts will come in the very hour that I need them. Sweet Haven took notes for me.
- Your Dad is trying very hard to be very very brave.
- Fairview was Monday, then school for all of us. I taught all week at Riverton High. I had Cody Morse, Melanie Summers, Captain Moroni from youth conference and Emmy Slichta in my classes. I think I come across as a 40-year-old pulpit-pounding baptist preacher with weird hair. I had four kids sculpt their favorite scripture hero out of playdough and this was one girl's rendition of the 2000 Stripling Warriors. She only got to 130 :).
- Annie started ballroom classes this week and she LOVES IT. She also started private cello lessons. She's going to be a busy chick. She also has hard classes.
- Annie went over to Easton's Friday night, and he had a girl there that he's been texting a lot with. Isn't that fun?
- Tuesday night Joseph Ssempala, Vilate's husband became a United States citizen. It was AWESOME! I wasn't able to attend the ceremony because of seminary but I have heard they are so beautiful and emotional. Neat day for them.
- Seth is not playing a fall sport because of his knees, but he has decided he wants to be a rugby player. He is so yummy.
- We have been bottling tomatoes and peaches this week with Grandma. I just love it. Aunt Nic and Ladybug came up and she bottled for the first time. It was super fun.
- Grandpa Jello worked for days at Grandma and Grandpa's house. They have new sod in the front yard and everything looks so spectacular.
- Our new renters are in and they are fun. Tony and Meredith.
I am amazed at Heavenly FAther's love for us. I am so grateful that he cares so infinitely and intimately. Every time I testify of His love the Spirit is so strong. It is exquisitely beautiful. I was apologizing recently for needing so much grace and I was told clearly "Jana, there is infinite grace, as much as you'll ever need, infinite amounts." Instead of feeling guilt that I need it so much, REJOICE THAT THE SAVIOR'S GRACE IS THERE FOR US IN INFINITE AMOUNTS!
We are sending you A PACKAGE! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL US ANYTHING AT ALL THAT YOU WOULD WANT OR NEED INSIDE THAT BOX! What treats do you want that you can't get? How are your garments holding up, do you need new ones? Do you need new jandals? Do you need more soap, oils, bug repellant, a new hammock? Please tell us what would be best inside that box!
Your Mama loves you SO MUCH!! We pray constantly for your mind to be open to the language, for your happiness, health, safety and that you can teach with power and the Spirit. We love you so very very much.
May the road rise to meet you,
may the wind be ever at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Love, Momsies
may the wind be ever at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Love, Momsies
