I have some very important things to tell you.

  • We found your star spangled tights. Spen put them on and his legs looked to cute I couldn't stop laughing. He was brushing his teeth, and Seth pulled the tights down to his ankles. Spencer fell over. It was amazing.
  • Spencer exercised to Richard Simmons by himsel. My life is made.
  • Sometimes hair elastics for 13 year old girls cost $43. I just don't want you to say I never told you. Sometimes one takes one's 13 year old girl to Walmart and she remembers she must have tights, finds a #6 dress on sale, needs new undies, and then she finds the absolute cutest little mini lunch box in the whole entire world, and one may think how this girl practices her cello, paino, works so hard in school, church and everything, and she's so darling and so much fun, and she needs the tights to stay warm and the dress to be modest, and the lunchbox, well, how can you live without a Finding Dory mini lunchbox?  ...well, just so's you're ready. :)
Now on to less important things:
  • I FOUND IT! THE CHINESE FLAGSHIP CENTER! You can take all kinds of classes in CHINESE!! YOU ALSO SPEND A YEAR IN A UNIVERSITY IN CHINA! WHAT?  SO AWESOME!  Here's more information:  This fall you would only qualify for the "Early Preadvanced Pathway" for the Chinese Flagship center.  You need to ask permission to apply here
  • http://chineseflagship.byu.edu/newapply/application/apply#/stepone?_k=z8i3au
  • If accepted you will be able to take a 2 credit class at the Flagship center this next fall. The advanced pathway begains after you've taken Chinese 301 and you are junior in college.
  • VERY IMPORTANT. YOU MUST HAVE ANOTHER ECCLESIASTICAL ENDORSEMENT TO REGISTER FOR HOUSING AND REGISTER FOR CLASSES.  I already requested it, you are in the queu, but it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SET UP AN INTERVIEW WITH THE PRESIDENT.  I can not secure housing or classes until this happens. Please call the office and make arrangements.
  • Did you find Jacob Blad? I can't find him anywhere. I tried to guess at his email but failed.  What is Hollis doing for school?
  • It looks like we are getting you in one of the Campus Plaza houses next Monday. Stuart Brown's mother and I are going down next Monday to take care of it. Does that work? Last chance for Jacob Blad. Do you have his email?

News From Here:

  • So many amazing experiences this week!  I was privileged to sit a few feet from an apostle at a women's leadership meeting. The Spirit was so strong.  He said he had something to say as an apostle of Jesus Christ, and then he said "Thank you" and just wept.  He told a beautiful story about his first assignment as an apostle. He had the privilege of organizing the first stake ever in the country of Botswana. He thought it would be such a cool experience. The day before he left he got an email authorizing him to restore the blessings of a man in Botswana. He arrived at the church at 7:30. His appointment with this man was at 10:30, but he was already there. He talked about the interview, and how he told him he was clean, and that only his ORIGINAL baptismal date would be on his record. The man just wept and wept through their interview.  He shared how he was just amazed at how much joy he felt. He told us that the church is an "Atonement Delivery System to the One". That is the reason. We are trying to help the Atonement be active in people's lives.  He said it's all about being knee to knee, eyeball to eyeball. That is why YOU are out there! To find and baptize and help "Deliver" the atonement one by one!  The Spirit was incredible. He gave us an apostolic blessing.
  • GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TODAY?  THE PRIMARY PRESIDENT FOR THE ENTIRE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS CAME AND VISITED OUR PRIMARY!  At first I didn't realize who she was. She just snuggled in with the kids.  She said she prayed about which ward to come to and came to ours for some reason.  I think I know why.  One of my sweet counselors was having some trials at home and had to miss the meeting with Elder Renlund yesterday. She was so sad about it, and then the GENERAL PRIMARY PRESIDENT CAME AND SAT RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER AND CRIED THROUGH HER SHARING TIME.  It was amazing. She was so real, warm, open, and loving. She hugged all of us over and over.  Rustin Garn gave the talk and just as he was walking up to the pulpit he shoved a licorice twist in his mouth. It was big. He got up and started talking and we couldn't understand one single word.  It was the cutest thing ever. He got off the pulpit in his little bowtie and was so proud of himself and the great talk he had just given.  So precious.
  • I also had the chance to hear Stephanie Nielsen speak. She is a mormon mama blogger who was burned completely in an airplane accident. Her testimony was so incredibly powerful.  She shared such a strong witness of the gift that is motherhood.  She was given the choice to go home and be out of pain, but she chose to come back for her children.  She bore such a powerful testimony of the priesthood as well.
  • The family is great. Coy was so blessed with a really wonderful job. It is BYU print and mail, right next to the MTC, as a web developer.  Totally flexible, great team, good money, enjoyable and ever changing work with help when he doesn't know how to do something, so he's getting paid to learn. We are feeling very very blessed.
  • I had the chance to go this week and interview refugees and help them get their picture taken for a beautiful free book this company will make for them. My first little girl was Somalian, born and raised in Ethiopia.  She has been here a little more than a year. She is so so tiny and so sweet. She comes from a family of 12.  I'll send the picture.
  • The Christensen boys are owning the court on the Priest basketball games. Is it the hair? Is it like the power of Sampson, if we cut it they will lose their strength to rip their blouse Steven?  Did you hear them chanting my name? Nacho Nacho Nacho.....They are crazy cute with their hair flowing behind the a few feet.
  • JOHN HUNT IS ENGAGED!  It all happened last night. We had fun helping with that. They rented a reception center, romantic dinner, dancing, movie of their pictures, dressed up like a prince and a princess.  She is an amazing girl.
  • Spen and Joseph helped Grandpa Jello build his carport for three hours yesterday, and it was 14 degrees. It has been so bitter cold here this week.
  • Dad took James and Carol back to the ER yesterday.  Still having a rough go.
  • We are reading Peter and the Starcatchers. Wednesday night everyone got an elephant ride and we took the guitar upstairs and sang our old songs. Those are some of my favorite nights. . Last night we went for Slurpees at 11:45 and sat around the table and laughed and talked and listened to Spencer's puns.
Life is delicicious. We miss you like absolute crazy. We've been praying for all of the investigators and for you, every prayer, every thought. You are so precious to us Mckay Scott!  Love you forever!
