I love you so much! How is everyone and everything? How was your week? I'm so excited to hear about all of it!
Fun Happenings around here:
- Mr. Silverrush! JOSEPH GOT AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD! He was so funny, confident, charismatic. His talent ended up AWESOME! He did the three costumes with the three drum beats. Came out in dreds and played the uke, ripped that off and had a bowtie and played jazz on the set, ripped that off and had hair gel up there. He gelled his hair and had a rocker shirt and went nutsy butsy on the drums, pounding the cymbal over and over. He wore the quintessential blue suit with ruffles at the neck and really worked and rocked it. His new best buddy won, two squashmores. It was a super super fun night because everyone did well, the school cheered for everyone, and it was just super fun. They added the candidates running through the audience collecting money, super funny. We saw Adam someone who is a student body officer. He told us to please tell you how much he looks up to you and wants to be just like you. Adam went for $2000 at the date auction.
- Wednesday night was so cool. We adopted a homeless family for our cub scout troop and took all of the gifts to deliver. A sweet lady gave us a tour of the homeless day facililty and answered all of the little scout's questions. Our ward is very generous. It was so fun.
- Saturday was our rockin ward party. It was a breakfast. Jayna and Darrell were in charge and it looked more like a wedding. Incredible. Santa came. The madrigals performed. We showed our darling primary video with all the little kids running around in the field with sheep and petting baby cows and bunnies, and singing their hearts out.
- We also had our Christensen Christmas party yesterday. Instead of $5 gifts G and G Raspberry bought and wrapped hot wheels cars for everyone and we played the white elephant game with those. When we all had our cars set he brought in a table track he built, a slanted long table with wood taped on, and we had a big epic racing tournament. It was super super fun. We played the left/right game, talked about Christmas memories, and of course had wonderful food.
- This morning the Slichtas and the Christensens met a beautiful family from Rwanda that we are going to give some Christmas gifts to. One of their sons said he had been meeting with the missionaries in Rwanda because he lived right by them. They are a beautiful and very loving family. We're getting them pillows, sheets, gloves, and some food! It's going to be so so fun!
- I am so full of Christmas joy, so grateful for the Savior and his infinite, perfect and "never give up on anyone" kind of love.
Another night last week I told the kids a story I just should never have told. There was a family with a bunch of brothers. They teased each other constantly and intensely. One time one brother went out to get the mail in just a towel. A second brother ran out, grabbed his towel, ran inside and locked the door. Instead of running for cover, brother one walked slowly back to the house, strutted actually. End of story I never should have told my boys. First of all, with two fingers like legs on a box they acted out 92 different ways he could have walked back to the house with all these funny things. Then somehow Spen and Joseph and Seth ended up doing a choreographed underwear dance until 11:30 a.m. in every room in the house. Remember the kids who wouldn't go to school or cut their hair? Same kids, just a different night.
Two nights ago Spencer called Seth short and they fought in their underwear all over the house until 11:30. Remember the kids who were doing the choreographed underwear dance? Same kids. Probably same undies.
