Our news:
- Hilary got trumped! It seems a lot of the nation is in shock for either side. It will be interesting to see what comes of it all. I do think for all his faults he really loves this country, it's opportunities and it's constitution. I have high hopes for the preservation of liberty that allows us to educate, serve, live and worship the way we want to.
- The other night I drove Joseph down to take care of Corby, and when we came back I said I was super tired and I wish someone would carry me in. HE DID! He is reminding us a lot of you lately. Remember junior year when you sat at the study desk doing calculus until one or two in the morning with all that crazy hair on you head? He is sitting at the same place with nearly as much hair, same color.
- Joseph was ordained a priest today. It was a wonderful experience. He finished the Duty to God Teacher program. We worked hard on that and there was a lot of joy in Whoville today, all the tall and the small.
- Seth is enjoying wearing 9 pairs of underwear at a time lately. Some people's hobbies :).
- It's fun to watch Annie's bball games. She does'nt really know how to play basketball, but she's learning, and she tries hard. She's been on the team two weeks and asked us at dinner what foul shots are :).
- Mon. for FHE we went to a fireside by Dallin Bayliss. Mormon Broadway singer, awesome. The young men had a week of service and did service every day. It was so awesome. We had a fun Relief society activity Wednesday night.
- We are doing a nativity video with all the primary kids and live animals.
- Yesterday I used perhaps the last gorgeous fall day with such deliciously rich and abundantly beautiful weather we were just drenched in glory and tried to clean the basement. Some people's hobbies :).
- We had a baby shower for Cami Bergeson Friday night. She will have a baby girl in December!
- Yesterday was Grandma Jan's birthday. I don't know if you have a minute to send her a little birthday wish...grandmajanclark333@
gmail.com she is 83, and she is amazing. - Dad's had a pretty rough week health wise, but he's doing better tonight.
- Spen and I attended the funeral of Suzy Evan's brother, Kaden's uncle on Saturday. His addictions took away ability to reason and even think in the end. He passed away homeless in SLC. It was a tragic end. As we listened I was overcome with how the Atonement is not only intergenerationally healing, but it transcends this world. Even for this man, death is not the end, nor is it the end of progress. Missionary work will be done on the other side, and there is hope for him. Even now, Satan has not won. I love that hope. I love so much that the Savior has never, will never give up on us. It is his love that fills us so much it pushes the bad out. We can talk about duty, rules, commandments, etc. but it is his delicious love, sweet above all that is sweet, that makes us WANT to do the things we SHOULD do. I think if we fix the want to by drounding it in love, everything else fixes itself.
- Whatever you wear, eat, say, do, no matter the color of your socks or what statues the Daoists have in their rice patty sanctuaries, please know that your Mom loves you more than life itself. You are such a treasure, gift and beloved friend. Have a super great week! I love you!
