- We attended BRYEN NORTH'S HOMECOMING TODAY! His talk was wonderful. He loves the gospel. He talked about looking through the ward directory and finding a name of a person they didn't know, and going to find him. He was a black man, as short as he was wide, and he was so happy to see them. Just from the visit he started coming back to church. He said how he was teaching him and he said 'isn't that just logical?' and the man said "Logic is the first principle of the gospel. Faith is." We took a bro picture for you. He said we shouldn't just stay home and play video games and eat carrot cake :0/ Jake was there.
- Monday was FHE and it was pretty epic. We had a lesson on Ben Carson, the conference talk on the man who operates on siamese twins. His Mom had them read three books a week and report to her, and she couldn't read, do you remember that? His mom dropped out of school, one of 24 children, married at 13 and divorced before 18 with two baby boys. Anyway, we tried to go to the library and return Michael Vey and get new summer books from everyone. On the way the Suburban broke down, we went home and traded cars, and got to the library just as it closed because the power was out:). It was pretty epic. We did come home and watch the Ben Carson movie and it is SO inspiring.
- Avery, Jake, Joseph and Quincy had a grand adventure yesterday trying to float pillows down the Jordan River. It didn't turn out as planned, they ended up bailing the giant pillows, walking barefoot across a field and calling me on someone else's phone to pick them up.
- I think I told you last week that Seth set a goal to do 'all the ups' …. sit ups, chin ups, one handed push ups, clapping push ups. so his physical fitness program is all the ups.
- I spent two days at Webelos Day Camp, and came home to a clean house, all the chores done….how am I supposed to interpret that things go better when I'm not here ;)
- Seth gave Z (his real name is Zonith) a car track he drew on paper and two hot wheels cars. Z is almost 50 years old and is just coming back into activity.
- Friday morning we went to serve at a Catholic food bank with the four boys. Annie was sick. We got there just as they finished ;). Good times;). Annie has strep.
- We headed over to help the neighbors in their yard on Saturday just as they finished
- ARE YOU NOTICING A THEME HERE? It's been a pretty awesome week! Nearly everything we tried to do went south! The library, the tubing, the catholic food bank, the service project. SWEET!
- We DID however have some fun family time on Friday night. We went on a family outing to the Brigham Young Historic Park and watched a men's chorus of barbershop quartets, and played in the family history center.
- I took Joseph, Teeghan Turner, Teeghan Kenworthy and Jake Hunt on Mon. and Tues to get their swimming merit badges. We DID get some inactive boys to scout camp this week which was awesome.
