A peek into the life of the Christensen crazies....
The other day we were talking about overcoming the "natural man",  and the boys said it's more like the "na " tural man, like "na, I don't really want to do that".  Coy followed up with "maybe for women it's the "nag" tural man".  Ouch!  Funny, but true in this home.

For family night the other night each family member had a plate of cookies and they could deliver them to whomever they chose, and Seth chose "Batman and Jesus".

I was so amazed at little Annie recently.  The 11 year olds went on a 5 mile hike and she was determined to come.  I told her that I was the Scout leader, I had to stay with the boys, she absolutely could not hold me up in any way and tried to talk her out of it.  She marched all 5 miles right by my side, even as 11 year olds were doing the Hufflepuffs and laying in piles on the side of the trail.

We're enjoying notes from Annie all over the house, pictures of princesses with puffy fancy sleeves and lots of eyelashes.  Annie has decided to shower every night and blow dry her hair. She is growing up so much.

Mckay's skit for student body office tomorrow is a modified Old Spice commercial.

Coy was invited to speak with his Venturing Crew at a March Madness Scout event, and he was assigned the final topic of friendship.  He was so awesome.  A member of the young men general board pulled him up afterward and used him as an example.  He also was asked to give the talk on the Holy Ghost at the Stake Baptism Saturday. It was a beautiful personal victory, one that most people in the room were not aware of, but the little weeping Mom on the second row sure was.  He is such an example to me.

Every time the little  kids watch a movie or read a book, they have to decide who they are going to "be". The show will start and they'll all call out parts. They don't do anything about it but just sit and watch, but they know who they are. When their character appears they say "I'm that guy!  There I am!"  It's funny.

Coy went all the way to State in Debate!  We were so excited for him!  Only 3 debate team members made it to State, one in oratory, one in congress, and Coy in Lincoln-Douglas debate.  It was open, meaning he could debate sophomores, juniors or seniors.  Even in these circumstances, he won 3 of 5 rounds at STATE!  He received a SEAL from the National Forensics League, (this is a big deal!), and he may have lettered, we haven't heard yet.  I think it's all one big huge awesome miracle.

We had the funniest conversation the other day about what music we should select to be the "on hold" music for our new business.  Coy suggested "Everybody wants to love my Fanny" or the My little Pony theme music.  Someone else called out "More than a Woman" by the BG's, and then they older boys started in on an old spice commercial..."look at your job, now back to mine....".   I think Jeff stays at the office quite a lot for a reason.

Seth loves to be coddled, carried, spoiled rotten. He's never known anything else.  I am trying to teach him what a gift legs are, and how useful they can be.  I often ask him "What did Heavenly Father give you?" He is trained to say "legs", then get busy and use them.  The other day when asked he said "nose!"  and stayed right in my arms.

I was asking Spen one day what his plans were for life.  He informed me that he's going to have a lot of money, a pool, a huge basketball court with 3 side by side hoops for each of his three children so they can all practice at once, and a hummer. I followed up with inquiring where he would get all of his money, and his plan was to "be awesome, then people will just give me money."  If that didn't quite do it, his next plan was to "be friendly, then people will leave me their money when they die".  It's a good thing 12 year olds aren't out on their own...yet.

The kids run around singing some weird part of a song that goes "baby, baby, baby  oooh!" The ooh part is really high.  Seth's been singing "mommy, mommy, mommy, ooooh!"   You probably have to be there to appreciate that one.

Seth's primary teachers said "Your parents love you, we love you and Jesus loves you.." and Seth said "and I love Santa Claus!"

Seth says "Harry Poota" and corrects everyone if they say it wrong.  Seth loves to dress in the Cinderella dress.

Spence is finishing 3 weeks off track, and he is definitely my very own Mr. Clean. I love it. Right after everyone is off to school he turns on the music and says "Let's clean the house!" We work side by side.

Coy tried out for Acapella choir!  Even typing that makes me tear up, I am so happy and excited for him. The auditions were hilarious.  He thought he would sing "Everbody wants to love my Fanny" , then we went to the temple and he received the "inspiration" coming out of the font that he should audtion with "History is made by Stupid People!"  We stuck with that, and he nailed everything.  Each boy had to bring a girl to audition with, and each girl a boy. He actually stood up in his seminary class and said "Does anyone want to try out for acapella with me?"  That boy has grown so much.  Several of his friends are doing it as well, and I am so excited for him to find another way to celebrate his love of music, and hang out with hot chicks.  I keep telling him that's where they are because I was a hot choir chick :).  By the way, he made it.  He walked in and said "I know you didn't get my text because you would be screaming right now".

Spen signed up for MIDDLE SCHOOL!  That one breaks my heart. He is still so young, innocent, sweet, loving, darling....for some reason this one really gets me in the heart part.  For his electives he chose theatre and art.  He's always been a little quiet, so theatre was a surprise. I'm excited for him.

Spen's team made it all the way to the regional quarter finals in Jr. Jazz.  It was such an incredibly fun season. I love basketball, maybe because my one brain cell can understand it.  Get ball in hoopy thing, or try to stop other guys from getting ball in hoopy thing.  Spen averaged 15 points a game.  I'm sure it helps that his Dad's in the bishopric with keys to the church!

Seth showed up at Grandma Jello's in his Piderman snowboots, jammies and a BYU hat and announced "I didn't bring my boys!"

Joseph has really gotten into reading lately..he's doing awesome.

Joseph got another acting job with the church, a family history Youtube series modeled after "Kids Say the Darndest Things" ...ya, shouldn't be a problem....

The BBC sent an inquiry around of 100 of the worlds best Classic books with the challenge "Bet you haven't read more than 5". Coy had read 29.

We often will choose not to wake up the Little Prince for devotional, but if he hears the family Cheer he comes out in his disheveled jammies and crazy hair just HORRIFIED at the top of the stairs. He will say "Guys, you forgot ME!"  He is so mad at us.

Mook got a candy bar in his locker from an unknown girl.

Seth loves to say "really really, very very, so so," everything has a double adjective. He likes to do death scenes lately, big dramatic ones, then we'll ask him to do something and he'll say "I can't, I'm dead."

A girl asked her friend to ask her friend to ask Spencer to go behind the portable where she gave him a big stuffed teddy bear for Valentines.

Joseph and Eli earned their Webelos awards,  and were recognized on the same night.  It was SO FUN.
Seth was licking the mirror the other day and we tried to stop him and he said "I'm just licking me!"

Spencer changed Seth, and Seth came out half-cheeked.  It's so darling.

Mckay joined the highschool track team. He can't compete this year as an 8th grader, but he works out with them every day. It is SO EXCITING!  He got 15+ feet on his first long jump, and his fastest times right now on the 100 is 12.72, the 200 he is running in 26.13, and the 400 is a minute.2.   He is really enjoying it. I sent my little (not so little) 8th grader on the highschool BUS all day for a meet in Davis county.  How can this all be happening when I am only 12 myself?

Annie is still trying to read the Book of Mormon before baptism.  It has really helped her reading.

Joseph made a giant cookie for his teacher, and the cookie dough flowed over and lit up.  The flame was big, and was not going away, so we finally used the fire extinguisher on it.  In my moment of panic, I couldn't remember if it was baking powder or baking soda.  Well, the cookie dough had been the day before and it went down under the stove and we didn't know it.  Anyway, dinner was cooking at the time, so some fumes and a little dust from the extinguisher lightly powdered the casserole.  This is just one more thing that my kids will need counseling for, but, well, now they are not only smart, fun and cute, they're also flame-retardant.

Other than all this fun we are still trying to birth our business, keep out of straight-jackets, steer clear of fields of daisies and enjoy our children in the meantime(who have the nerve to keep growing up...so rude!)!  All our love.....Jeff, Jana and the crazies!
