We picked instruments that remind us of our kids. Coy is a classical piano, exacting, entertaining, likes predictabiltity and to have the expectations all spelled out. Mooks is a banjo pickin down home boy who we have to remind to shower and loves music and family and any kind of fun. Spencer is like a smooth jazz sax, handsome, not loud, cool clothes and hair always, so fun but not in a loud brassy way. His friend told his dad "I want to be cool like Spencer". He asked him what Spencer does to be cool and he said "You don't do cool you're just born cool". He is just cool. Joseph is an electric guitar. Whatever he is doing it is so exciting. He even has his own fan club with one always at the door. He is jumping, flying, running, or he is off and sound asleep, he only has those two speeds. Annie is a little flute, a sweet little pixie in the garden with her very own little opinions. Sethy is a minature tuba, chubby, happy and loves to spit. Fun About Coy.....He loves the "Classic Tales Podcast" and has listened to all of them, especially enjoying the writings of P.G. Woodhouse. He's beginning to work on his eagle project, and he and his friends are so FUNNY! He and his buds have been going to the temple every Wednesday this summer, then eating someone's house bare and playing for the morning. He always turns on either music or a book and keeps us doing something. Mckay is in "Schoolhouse Rock Live!" He tried out singing "I'm my Own Grandpa" as heard in Nauvoo this summer and played his guitar. He wants to be a comedian when he grows up. I love how he says "Seth wants a little bit of Mookie" when he wants to hold him. I love his shaggy lego land hat with the fray hanging down in his face. Spencer has funny stories to tell us every day. He walks and talks with his friend Brennan at recess. He wants to play golf every day Nic style with the basketball setting the par. Spencer is so mild mannered. He never raises his voice. His socks are always just right. Joseph is the exact opposite. His voice is almost never quiet. He is excited to start gymnastics. He sits by Grayden at school, and he loves to try to play his own little guitar. He told me "Mom, you don't know how crazy I am. Swimming is not crazy enough for me, last time I was happy I was on the Alpine Slide!" Annie sings "Eso bono kabe" every time Seth cries in the car. I love how she raises her eyebrows and her eyes get huge when she tells me anything about anything like it's the most exciting thing in the world. She talks and plans, she loves to plan what we are going to do and how it is all going to happen. She got up one day recently and told me that we were going on a girl date to Arby's to get curly fries and she got ready and went out and sat in the van. She told me that I am not as smart as her, that she is the smartest one in our family. Seth is so darling with his delicious dimpled smile, he loves to squeal inhaling to the kids' delight. He spits and just two days ago started clapping, and is close to crawling, but there's one problem. His back end learned to crawl before the front. His legs and hiney have got it down, but his face is still on the ground, so he's driving his face across the floor! We are sure enjoying these precious little children!
